Curatorial Statement
Looking Up was photographed in Ellijay, Georgia, during the autumn of 2023.
The collection explores the relationship between forest and sky through an upward perspective, transforming the tree canopy into a series of natural compositions. Branches stretch across open blue space, creating unexpected patterns, lines, and moments of balance.
Captured during the changing season, the photographs reveal the transition of the landscape through color, light, and texture. Rather than focusing on the forest floor, the collection invites the viewer to pause, look upward, and experience the landscape from a different point of view.
